Baby Girl on the way!

Had my ultrasound last week and found out we are having another baby GIRL! We also met with a ultrasound specialist and we were told that all looks healthy and normal. It is always such a relief to hear that news. :) We are very excited that Cadence and new baby will be close in age and Dylan is very excited to be having another sister...he always said he wanted a sister when anyone would ask.

Pirates, Pirates and more Pirates

For Christmas Aunt Michelle gave Dylan a bunch of pirate stuff...that Dylan loves and plays with daily. She bought a cd of pirate music that we listen to all the time, I'm not joking he asks to listen to it constantly. He pretends like he is a pirate usually dressed in pirate belt that has the sword stashed in, red bandana, eye patch, and of course I can't forget the cowboy boots. He makes treasure maps and uses my jewelry box as the treasure chest. It really is pretty cute.

Of course sister has to dress like a pirate as well. :)

Baby Pounds!

I am 18 weeks along with baby #4. We will get to find out what we are having in another 4 weeks...yeah! My pounds are starting to pack on, I'm up 13 pounds already. This picture was taken on Christmas Day...I've gained another 3 pounds since then. :) I have come to the conclusion that I can no longer squeeze myself into my "fat" pants and will need to pull out the maternity clothes. I just hate them.

On another note, Mark is shedding pounds like crazy. He started eating healthy and exercising and he has lost a amazing 18 pounds already in only 1 month! I am really proud of him. He is helping me out with the exercising because we have been walking a lot. Yesterday we walked 4 1/2 miles...I got tired and was ready to go home and he wanted to keep going. His solution for me was to ride on our 2 seater stroller and he would push me. Can you imagine the sight of that! He couldn't understand why I wouldn't do it.

Rain & Flowers

For the last week or so Dylan has been asking about Lincoln a lot. We recently had a conversation before he went to bed about what dying meant and what heaven is...the best that I could. I explained that Lincoln was born very sick and now he lives in heaven and that he will stay there forever with Jesus. Dylan responded almost in tears saying, "but I don't want to go to heaven because I won't live with you anymore". After some tears from me he asked why I was sad and I told him that I missed Lincoln very much. He then tried to comfort me by saying "well, you have Cadence & me. Does that make you happy?" I will cherish this conversation forever.

Last night during Dylan's prayers before bed he "thanked God for the rain that makes the flowers grow".

I'm not sure that I am able to say I am thankful for the rain that life has brought but I am for the flowers that have grown. There is good that can come...

First Friday Artwalk

Tonight I went to First Fridays Artwalk to check out what Sarah Castillo was selling to raise money for homes that are being built for those being rescued from sex trade across the world.

Once I exited 7th Ave from the freeway it instantly brought back such a great feeling. It was the routine of going to onePlace. As I'm driving down Roosevelt I have a smile on my face thinking of the memories. I ask Dylan if he remembers going to our old church, to my surprise he said he didn't. I of course had to park at the church's parking lot because it is familiar. It is still empty, with our sign up and our candle holders still in the window. I get out of the car and realize that in another life I never would have felt safe parking here...how life has changed over the years. Once we get out of the car Dylan tells me that he does remember coming here & tries to open all the doors as we go to the front to peek in the window.

A night of good memories in a area of town that will always hold a special place in my heart.
