Spring Break Vacation - Stop 1 - Bryce Canyon

We decided to take a RV rental trip to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Monument and the Grand Canyon over spring break. On our way to Bryce Canyon we started to see some billboard signs saying there was a taxidermy museum coming up...and I love roadside attractions but Mark hates them, he is all about getting to the destination. But I talked him into stopping and it was so fun...and random!

The museum was a guy who had his private collection of animals he killed up on display...amazing animals from all over the world. The kids had a great time looking at everything and then at the end we got to feed their pet deer. Which of course Cadence was scared to death of which is why I am holding her!

The kids LOVED being in the RV. I honestly think that was the best part of the vacation for them. Just being able to move around while we were driving down the road. The girls did all kinds of craft projects while Dylan played video games.

And Bryce Canyon was amazing! So beautiful. 

But we quickly realized that Mark has a serious fear of the kids being around heights. His panic left him unable to relax and enjoy the beauty. The kids quickly realized they could joke around with him about being near the edge (which they never were really near the edge without a railing!) and Mark did not think it was very funny :).

This was our campsite for the 1st night. We had a fox run through the area which the kids were excited...and scared about!

March Memories

 Dylan got his eyes checked this month and all is good. Actually doctor said he has better than perfect eyesight...how can that be? :)

 Our bunnies are so cute. Dylan thinks it a little baby and holds it that way. Crazy thing is, the bunny doesn't care!

 Dylan picked out some new clothes on his own. 

He thinks he looks pretty cool (and he is super handsome!).

Chores have started in the Roberts house. The kids know to look at their lists to see what they have left to do for the week, and we made these cool hanging jars for the saving and giving money. Love the way they turned out!

Spring is in the air

 Our garden is sprouting and the tomatoes survived the winter. I really enjoy watching our garden sprout and change. Trying potatoes for the 1st time...hopefully we get a bunch. :)

And the flowers on the peach tree are so beautiful!

Lincoln

Isabelle has been talking a lot about Lincoln lately. She will talk about God and then the next natural thing in her mind is to mention Lincoln...well because they are both in heaven.

The other week she asked me randomly if Lincoln was still a baby or if he was older now. I sat for a moment and just answered honestly and said, "I'm not really sure". She then began to tell me that Lincoln was in heaven with Jesus and that Jesus was playing with him. The thought of this stopped me in my tracks and brought me to tears. I answered and said, "Yes, you are very right ,Lincoln and Jesus are playing together and are having such a great time".

Sometimes the simple things of my child's mind are just what I need to remember the goodness of God over our family.

February memories

 We celebrated my Dad's 64th birthday at our house. We had a great steak dinner prepared by Mark and then had a fire...or should I say bonfire! Check out that flame. Mark used just a few branches left over from our Christmas tree and they went up so fast!

 And I got my phone back from the kids with a few "selfies" on them of both Dylan and Cadence. Always makes me laugh to see what they take pictures of.

And some love for Daddy. :)

Trip to the snow...

 The Whittemores and us bought a Living Social deal for a hotel weekend in Pinetop months ago with the idea of doing a ski weekend trip together. We booked the hotel when we bought it and when the time came to go...there was no snow on the ground and pretty warm weather. But the day that we arrived the weather turned cold and snow was expected! You can see on the ground...no snow.

 The first morning there were some flurries coming down which the kids were more than excited to be playing in. They even found a little pile of snow to be able to throw little snow balls at each other.

 And then as the day went on...it really started snowing! We went out for dinner and this is how the weather changed in just a few short hours. It's such a rare thing for us to be in snow, let alone when it is snowing so hard.

 The next morning was bright blue skies and snow covered ground. The perfect amount of enjoyment without being too cold! My kind of snow trip. :)

Chopsticks 101

 Our family (except for Dylan) enjoys sushi...well I should clarify. Our family likes California rolls. When we ask where they want to eat out at, most often Sushi is the 1st request. I think it is so fun that they like it at a young age. And we eat a lot of it, the 4 of us at 13 rolls last time we went! That's a lot of rolls!!

 The usually just use their fingers to eat but this time the waitress gave them chopsticks with end tied together that helps them learn how to use. They of course loved using them, even Dylan got the hang of using them. :)

My goodness, that is a big bite!
