Sushi 101

Mark decided he wanted to try to make sushi rolls for the first time last night. We found all the stuff we needed but wasn't sure on what kind of crab meat to get (we went with canned...learned for next time not to do that again). I think they turned out great, he did such a good job. I definatly don't have the patience to make them...so this will always be a meal that he does. :)

LIfe has now changed...

Life as I know it has now changed...Isabelle is mobile. I guess the days of sitting her down, leaving the room and knowing she is in the exact same spot when I come back has ended. I knew the day was coming soon, should be interesting! :)

Sibling Love...

Cadence had a rough week this week with getting hurt in the mouth twice. The first time happened when we went on a hike, she fell and somehow hit her mouth on a rock when she landed. It cut her gum open pretty good (took her to dentist right away but they said it was fine :)) and cut her lip open. The next time was a few days later, she fell off the stool while washing her hands. She had the biggest fat lip.

Dylan was so cute with her. When she had settled down he asked her, "Cadence would you like to go relax and snuggle and watch a show together?" It was really precious to see him want to take care of her.
It was nice to end the day on a nice note with the two of them, Dylan had been picking on her all day taking her baby doll away just because he knew it makes her mad. They definalty have a up & down relationship. :)

Why we don't...

This is why I don't let the kids paint very often.
It is such a mess! But the kids always have fun. :)

You can't really tell in the picture but dylan built this little wood airplane all by himself. He has scrap wood that we let him nail into and this is what he created the other day. I was pretty impressed.

San Diego

A few weeks ago we (us and Israel & Kati) went to San Diego to hang out for the weekend. It was so nice to get away. Israel has a cousin who works at Sea World, so we were all able to get in for free!

I think that maybe sometimes they think they are sisters :)

(although Mark looks serious in this photo, I thought it was a great shot)
We rented a house in Ocean Beach that was a few blocks walk to the ocean. The beach there wasn't that great, but it was still great to be so close to water.

The kids loved the sand...and Kati and I were finding it still stuck to them a few days later.

Dylan loved building sand castles,
and was good even when the girls came by and kicked them down. :)

It was a great trip...hope to go back soon.
